DONCASTER BIRD CENSUS 2012

by admin — Categories: UncategorizedLeave a comment

Nick Whitehouse has asked that I publish the following note:

Those of you participating in the Doncaster Bird Census 2012 will appreciate it has been a very slow start to the breeding season for some of the species being covered this year. No doubt the weather so far this spring has not helped, but there are some early quite concerning signs of real declines in some species. But its too early to jump to conclusions, and with the onset of better weather (hopefully !)  as we move through May, then things may begin to pick up quite quickly.
Please endeavour to cover your selected study areas at least twice fully in May, and the same again in June (early and mid month). By doing so we will get a much better picture of the situation.
Many thanks to all those taking part. Best wishes,
Nick
