LOCALWeather: mainly clear skies through the early hours gave way to a chiefly cloudy/overcast day; there was a heavy frost during the early hours/morning with ice on open water throughout the day, though some moderately heavy rain fell during the afternoon/evening. Visibility: poor/very poor until late afternoon, then mainly good thereafter. Temperatures: -4.9° to +3.9°C. Wind: very light/light throughout, mainly SSE/SE occasionally S. Surface pressure at 0000UTC: starting on 1021hPa falling to 1018hPa by late evening. Fronts etc.: two N/S occlusions moved ENE over the District during the day as the prelude to a large Atlantic Depression arriving from the west.
