HUMBERHEAD PEATLANDS – Hatfield Moors area (SE7106D & SE6905X) – 1 MARSH HARRIER, 5 Pochard, 2 Little Egret, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 GREENSHANK, 1 Kingfisher, 1 RING OUZEL (MP), 1 Blackcap, 10+ Chiffchaff, 6+ Siskin (Chip Rhodes, Colin Wall and Mark Paine). POTTERIC CARR (SE5999, SE6099, SE5900 and SE6000) – 27 Wigeon, 54 Pochard, 36 Tufted Duck, 1 BITTERN, 1 Little Egret, 1 cc MARSH HARRIER, 5 Water Rail, 2 Golden Plover over; 155 Lapwing, 1 Dunlin S; 1 WOOD SANDPIPER – flew in from the south at 2.50pm landing on the island on cell 1b opposite Mitchell Hide, still present at 3.25pm (RJS); 6 Snipe, 1a Common Gull, 11 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 2 Kingfisher, 5 Goldcrest, 9 Swallow S; 9 CETTI’S WARBLER, c20 Chiffchaff, 1 Reed Warbler, 3 Song Thrush, 1 Grey Wagtail over; 1 Pied Wagtail, 1 Siskin (Richard Scott, Andy Dalton, Darren Wozencroft and visitor reports). ROSEHILL CEMETERY – 1 Ring-necked Parakeet – apparently 1/2 have been seen in the Cemetery & Cantley Park regularly through the summer including 2 birds behaving aggressively to a Blackbird (Ian Stubbs)

WENT VALLEY – Southfield Res (SE6519) – 1m MARSH HARRIER, 90 Golden Plover, 1 Common Sandpiper, 28 Snipe, 5 RUFF E, 1 Tawny Owl and 5 Grey Wagtail (Adrian Scutt)
