DEARNE VALLEY – Adwick Washlands (SE4602) – 1 SAND MARTIN same as Broomhill Flash, 10 Grey Partridge, 1 Shelduck, 120 Wigeon, 5 Dunlin, 75 Lapwing 5 Snipe, c.200 Fieldfare, 20 Redwing, Mixed flock of Goldfinch and c.60 Redpoll (Gary Stones & Gary Haywood per Twitter)

DEARNE VALLEY – Bolton Ings (SE4302) – 3 (1j) Mute Swan, 30 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Grebe, 12 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 346 Coot, 13 BH Gull, 6 Common Gull, 5 LBB Gull and 3 Herring Gull. Also present were 1 cc MARSH HARRIER, 113 Lapwing, 1 Snipe, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Jay and 1 Grey Wagtail (Alan Whitehouse and John Seevior per today’s BARNSLEY BIRD SIGHTINGS and John Seevior per Twitter)

DEARNE VALLEY – Broomhill Flash – 3j Mute Swan, 34 Canada Geese, 19 Shoveler, 18 Teal, 15 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 5 Wigeon, 1 Little Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 4 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 35 Lapwing, 53 BH Gull, 1 Common Gull, 1 SAND MARTIN SE (beating the previous latest record by 14 days), and a flock of 120+ Fieldfare over south (Alan Whitehouse and Simon Cooper per today’s BARNSLEY BIRD SIGHTINGS)

DEARNE VALLEY – Old Moor (SE4302) – 1 CATTLE EGRET, 4 Little Egret, 1 GREAT WHITE EGRET, 4 Green Sandpiper, 5 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 PEREGRINE (Barnsley BSG per Twitter and today’s OLD MOOR-RECENT SIGHTINGS and John Seevior per Alan Whitehouse)

HUMBERHEAD PEATLANDS – Hatfield Moors area (SE7106D & SE6905X) – 1 MARSH HARRIER, 2 HEN HARRIER, 2 RAVEN over; 1 GREAT GREY SHRIKE (visitor only) (Mark Pain, Chip Rhodes and Birdguides).

IPORT LAKES – 6 Shoveler, 5 Pochard, 5 GOLDENEYE, 12 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Redshank, 1 JACK SNIPE, 1c WATER/ROCK PIPIT prob former but not seen well enough to be certain, only seen in flight and without bins; 2 Grey Wagtail, c.60 Linnet (Chris Robinson). Added to Birdtrack.

POTTERIC CARR (SE5999, SE6099, SE5900 and SE6000) – 8 Shelduck, 50+ Wigeon, 1m PINTAIL, 1 BITTERN, 3 Little Egret, 2 MARSH HARRIER, 1 Water Rail, 5 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Snipe, 1 Coal Tit, 1 MARSH TIT, c100,000 Starling – arriving mainly from the south, a few thousand dropped into the Lagoon reeds and the majority in front of Tofield Hide; c50 Siskin (Rob Burns, David Beresford, Vernon Barker, Amy Thompson).
